The Writer -
Writing takes it's toll on the writer. - Writers such as J.D. Salinger,T.S. Eliot, James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Oscar Wilde, Ezra Pound, C.S. Lewis, Flannery O'Conner, and others, had very serious struggles with living (yes, most of these were irish).
Writing is about the toll that life takes. - Life can be difficult. Sickness, war, and life struggles present challenges to mankind. Many writers have known these challenges first hand. But their struggles were recorded, and from their works we can see how courageous they were. Through their faith and their character they lived. From this, we gain courage to face this life.
